About Us

Spoonbridge Press is a small team of literary professionals from Saint Paul, Minnesota. We’re passionate about helping new and growing authors navigate the confusing world of self-publishing. With our combined 20 years of publishing experience and our commitment to client support and guidance, we help independent authors publish books they’ll be proud of while retaining complete creative control over their publishing journeys. (That’s why we have an “Excellent” rating from the Alliance of Independent Authors.)

“Your turn-around time is just amazing.

And the clarity you have helped me achieve—I just can’t thank you enough.”

Sarah Kolb-Williams

Lead Editor

I’m an editor, writer, and book coach with over 15 years of experience editing for individual clients and publishers alike. My passion is helping new authors see the true potential of their manuscripts. I’m an adventurous eater with an insatiable hunger for spicy food (the only way to get through a Minnesota winter), an amateur gardener, a dog mom, and a coffee nerd. When I’m not exploring the local record stores and Vietnamese restaurants, you’ll find me somewhere on the road with my husband and our dog, Cooper.

Britt Peterson

Project Manager

I’m a project manager and organization enthusiast who loves seeing a manuscript become a real book. I spent 15 years as a teacher and I translate that experience into developing clear self-publishing plans for authors. I value quick and efficient communication and I’m here to answer all of your questions. I love cooking, camping, and all things crafty, and my office is often strewn with half-finished sewing projects. I play a handful of instruments and love to “jam” with my husband, two kids, and literal herd of cats.

“Writing a book looks simple. It’s not.

Even after a great idea has been drop-kicked, massaged, coaxed, and spit-shined into a manuscript, there’s still a huge chasm between that and the goal: a ‘look-at-me-I’m-proud’ novel. Spoonbridge Press turns that daunting leap into a garden stroll. On top of all that, Sarah and Britt are lovely to work with. Am looking forward to my next project with them.”
